Jhon Grisham : The Innocent Man and Playing for Pizza

Early life of Ronald Keith Williamson seemed delighted. A successful school and played college baseball, seemed a world of possibilities at his feet. But after an injury ended his career slowly began to show signs of mental illness, and drifted into a life of petty crime and misdemeanor. When in 1982 a local girl was raped and murdered, he was in prison serving time for kite checks. While there, another prisoner, seeking the release, alleged he had heard him confess to the killing, and Williamson, was arrested for the crime.

From the point of his arrest, Williamson was taunted by prison guards who held back the medications prescribed to control his psychiatric problems, meaning that when it comes to proof that he was distressed and not lucid. In the same trial that was never given fair representation - his lawyer not only blind, but has also never handled a criminal case before, and never stated on behalf of Williamson, who was unable to stand trial. Williamson was found guilty and sentenced to death.

Despite numerous appeals, was given a definite date for his execution - September 1994 24. It was only thanks to last-minute intervention by a group of appellate lawyers working on their behalf, seeking an order of the district judge, who was given a stay of execution for five days. Here, for the first time, Grisham delves into this history, tracing man's case and trial, and show how, thanks to this dedicated team of legal professionals, the truth about the case came to light. Evidence emerged completely exonerate Williamson, and was released in April 1999. He later won a lawsuit in court for his conviction, but sadly died last year.
